USC’s Immersive Arts & Music Festival
$140,000 Budget · 2,000+ Attendance · 150+ Student Creatives
Project Overview
A cross-disciplinary festival redefining how audiences experience art. Artscape fuses live performance, music, and large-scale installations into one transformative experience. Headlined by Between Friends.
My Role
Operations Manager
I handled permits, safety, risk, compliance, security, ticketing, transportation, and parking while maintaining communication and follow-through with university departments (DPS, TES, FPM). Along with overseeing volunteers and staffing, responsibilities also included managing guest services and the overall site infrastructure for the event.
Process
I began by reviewing the USC Outdoor Event Planning Packet to understand all of the rules and regulations. With that, I was able to advise our designers and installation artists to ensure their work complied with university guidelines.
I filled out the necessary documentation and forms to ensure that each university department knew what was going on and what we would need.
I assisted in developing diagrams and estimates for the event to make sure everyone was on the same page and that we were staying within budget.
While on-site, I assisted with electrical needs and security staffing. During the event, I handled check-in operations.
Outcomes
I learned how to communicate with various departments about the needs of a large-scale project through proper diagrams and verbal communication. I learned about the back-of-house requirements that keep a large-scale live event running smoothly.
